Six arrested following brawl at Sparky’s Tavern
On Sept. 19, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Waverly Police responded to at disturbance at Sparky’s Tavern located at 371 Broad St. in Waverly.
According to a Waverly Police Department report, police arrested six persons (males) for disorderly conduct and misdemeanor rioting in the second degree.
Upon investigation police found a group of males physically fighting with each other on the floor, all punching and wresting with each other.
Taken into custody were Irving Sinsaubaugh, age 38; Francis Winslow, age 34; Joshua Lerche, age 33; and Russell Hubbell; all of Waverly. Also taken into custody was Michael Powers, age 36; and Robert Stevens, age 37; both of Ulster, Pa.
Joshua Lerche was also charged with obstruction of governmental administration and false impersonation, both misdemeanors. He is accused of giving arresting officers a false name and false information during his arrest.
Lerche is also accused of attempting to hamper police while they were placing those fighting into custody.
All six are scheduled to answer the charges in the Village of Waverly Justice Court on Sept. 30 at 4:30 p.m.
