Motorcycles will ‘Keep Riding On’ to benefit Traci’s Hope; main event to offer BBQ for flood relief
In spite of the flooding that inundated the area, the 5th Annual Traci’s Hope Motorcycle Ride is on track for Oct. 1, and is scheduled to depart at 12:30 p.m. The ride starts at Hiawatha Motorcycle on Route 434 between Owego and Apalachin and ends at the annual Traci’s Hope event at the Apalachin Firemen’s Field Day grounds which begins at 1 p.m. and will conclude at 7 p.m.
The cost of the ride is a $15 donation for rider, and $10 for passenger. Those who stay at the main Traci’s Hope event at the Apalachin Firemen’s Field Day grounds will receive a discounted price of $5 per person for tickets. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the ride benefit Traci’s Hope, providing local assistance to families battling breast cancer.
The main event this year will take place with a BBQ, but the organizers have decided that this year’s proceeds will benefit flood victims instead.
Although Traci’s Hope is a non-profit organization to help those affected by breast cancer, the organization would not be successful without support from the community. When Traci’s family asked what Traci would do in this situation the answer was easy. Traci loved this community dearly for all the support that was given to her and would have done whatever she could to help those in need. The organizers hope that the community will take a break from all of their hard work on Saturday, Oct. 1, to come out and enjoy a warm meal and some good conversation at Traci’s Hope.
