An all-natural holistic pet center, euPAWria (pronounced yoo-paw-ree-uh), has opened in the Johnson’s Pools and Spas Plaza in Owego at 1110 Route 434.

Owners Dave and Pam Friedman, and daughter Alyssa, welcome you to their new business. euPAWria offers an assortment of all natural holistic and organic pet foods, treats, and pet products to promote healthier lives for pets. euPAWria also offers customers several product choices that avoid the use of toxic chemicals, by-products, dyes, fillers or other unnecessary ingredients.

Dave and Pam moved to Vestal from the New York City area 13 years ago. Prior to euPAWria, Dave worked in the sales, marketing and manufacturing segments of the pet food industry for over 25 years, and Pam worked in the health industry for several years. Both Dave and Pam agreed that their new business is a natural progression for their career paths. Dave explained that he was inspired by numerous stories people shared about the flood of 2011 and also commented, “Owego is such a charming, cool town.” Recognizing Owego lacked an all-natural pet store also helped solidify their decision to plan their business here.

The name euPAWria is described as a state of intense happiness, confidence or well-being experienced by a canine or feline. Products euPAWria carries include dog and cat food, treats, toys, grooming supplies, cleanup and odor removers, crates and beds, health and wellness, and a pet bakery!

Opening day was Thursday, Aug. 1.  Customers arrived shortly after 10 a.m. and seemed genuinely pleased about euPAWria opening in Owego.

The Owego Dog Owners Group, ODOG, was on hand at euPAWria during the opening event to offer information about their efforts to build a dog park in Owego. The park, which is fully funded by Adam Weitsman in memory of his sister Rebecca, is hoped to be constructed at Hickories Park.

A grand opening for euPAWria is planned for September 2013. Current store hours are Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Find euPAWria on the web at www.eupawria.com, or on their Facebook page, euPAWria. Customers can contact the store at (607) 689-3036, or by email to  eupawria@gmail.com.

Dave and Pam Friedman hope to be active members in the community, to include participation in neighborhood events and support of local non-profits and rescue groups.
